Jason Gottlieb

Jason Gottlieb is an artist, designer, and educator whose practice incorporates humor, games, and emerging technology—passions that energize both his creative work and his teaching, where he draws perpetual inspiration from his students and colleagues.

As full-time faculty in MICA's Graphic Design BFA Program, Gottlieb brings extensive teaching experience from his previous role as faculty and Co-Director of MICA's Graphic Design MFA program (2015-2020). He has also taught in MICA's Interactive Arts and Graphic Design MA departments, Johns Hopkins' Department of Art as Applied to Medicine, and the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

His diverse client portfolio spans cultural institutions and advocacy organizations, including Cooper Hewitt, World Wildlife Fund, International Fund of Animal Welfare, Ocean Conservancy, National Geographic, Smithsonian, and Hasbro. His work has earned recognition from leading industry publications and organizations including: Communication Arts, Print, Step, GD, Graphis, AIGA, ADCMW, Adobe, and Core 77.

Gottlieb earned his B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Digital Media from the Corcoran College of Art and his M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art. His dedication to teaching excellence was recognized in 2023 when he received MICA's Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching.
